When Urban Decay's new Naked3 hit the shelves of Sephora, the all-popular eyeshadow palette was out of stock in stores and online within a few days. After it was finally restocked, the oniomanic side of me went loose and vowed to get my hands on the beautiful holy grail as soon as possible.
The Naked3 is packaged in a rose-gold hinged tin box with a hinged lid which is already a bonus for me - the chocolate velvet case of the first Naked palette was a big no-no for me as it gets dusty fast. Like the Naked and Naked2 palettes, the Naked3 features 12 new (as hinted by the the colour scheme of the box) rose-hued neutrals exclusive to this set. It features the synthetic dual-ended crease and shadow brush (from Naked2) as well as 4 sample pods that holds about a week's worth of primer.

Each palette has shadows that range from light to dark, which I use as a guide on which colours to use as an eyeshadow base colour. Applying a base colour over your eyelid (as well as a primer) before applying other eyeshadow colours can brighten up your overall look.
In general, The Naked has more warm and "earthy" neutral tones, the Naked2 has a more neutral to taupe range of shadows, and the Naked3 has tones that are distinctly more pink toned with mid-to-light shadows. The Naked3, in particular, have colours that are distinct from one another, as I have noticed that there are several colours from Naked and Naked2 that are quite similar to one another.

To be honest, I cannot pick which one I liked the best out of the three because I personally think they bring out the best of me in different ways. The Naked palette shadows definitely looks more flattering on my fair skin tone and eye colour (dark brown), but the drastic range of light to dark shadows from Naked2 makes it a perfect palette for a night out of partying as it can be used to create the perfect smokey-eye look. However, I find the Naked3 shadows to be subtle enough for an everyday wear, such as work, school, and a night out.
To be broken down in more simpler terms on how I usually wear them:
If you are new to eyeshadows and are deciding on which ones to buy, I would pick either one of the Naked or Naked2 to get familiar with applying neutrals first before diving into the pink shadows of Naked3! If you are already familiar with applying eyeshadows to your look...definitely go for the Naked3! Its timeless colours are to die for and I guarantee you - you will use each colour more than once, so it is worth the money :)
To be broken down in more simpler terms on how I usually wear them:
- Naked - used for a simple barely-there look for school or casual mall-ratting
- Naked2 - used mainly for a night out of partying or to dinner parties with a dark-lit atmosphere
- Naked3 - used for my workplace for a more clean, chic, yet professional look, although it can easily be transitioned to a night-out look with the 2 darker colours (Darkside and Blackheart)
