Spring Calls For Florals
4/1/15
Hey guys, it’s Terri! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I have also started a blog myself this semester for one of my courses - Pub 101. This new experience has been super fun & I hope to continue it even after the semester is over. But until then, I promise I will try to post more on Vanstyle. :) Today I will be sharing one of my favourite looks from Vanstyle’s Spring Photoshoot that we had about two weeks ago. The day of the shoot was extremely sunny, but also very, very cold.
Since Vancouver has been having such
gorgeous weather and spring is pretty much around the corner, I decided to pop
on a flowery kimono-like cardigan as statement florals to keep the look
“romantic,” if you will. To bring the entire outfit into a more spring and
light feel, I chose a simple white tank underneath so that it won’t clash with
my bold kimono. For bottom wear, I went along with my all-time favourite ripped denim
by Frame from Aritzia! In my opinion, these babies are a must-have if you have
been looking for the perfect pair of ripped jeans - which was exactly what I was searching for back in December.
Although the jeans are a bit dark for “spring” or whatnot, you can definitely switch the outfit up with a pair of lighter denim if that’s the style you are going for. I think a lighter pair of denim like in the picture below would look just as great, if not even more in sync with spring!
This second picture above shows a clearer picture of the bag I chose to pair with the outfit – a large, black tote from Forever 21. Since school started again back in January, I had been searching for the perfect purse for school as an alternative to the Herschel backpack I carry around everywhere. What I was looking for in a bag was its size (to carry all my books and laptop), and its classic un-structured look which this particular tote perfectly encompasses. However, I am still currently in search for a tote bag with a more structured look. If you guys know of any places, please don’t hesitate in letting me know in the comments below!

2 Different Looks for Spring 2015
3/13/15
Hi guys! As Jen had said earlier in her most recent post, a few of us headed to downtown on a sunny but breezy day a couple weeks ago, and hauled around our favourite outfit picks for this Spring in giant duffel bags and backpacks. So glad that the photos doesn't show it, but I was actually extremely exhausted from walking around the entire afternoon hahaha. At least the photos turned out well (thanks Tiana H.)! Without further ado, here's my take for Spring outfits!
I'm a huge fan of sneakers and structured jackets, so what's better to style them together than with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans? This style combo makes it a perfect outfit to wear on the go while looking edgy chic.
Coat: BCBGMAXAZRIA
T-Shirt: Dynamite Clothing
Jeans: Armani Exchange
Wallet: Kate Spade
Watch: Michael Kors
Shoes: Fred Perry
For my second look, I decided to go with a "floaty" and girly look that are better more warmer spring weather (definitely not for that day though). Due to spring not being extremely warm yet, I paired this dress with leggings underneath for a cool and casual look. Plus, you can't go wrong with stripes! This outfit is perfect for shopping days on Robson Street, lunch dates or, what Tiana said, whenever you want to feel like a "sea slug" LOL
Dress: BCBGMAXAZRIA
Statement Necklace: The Bay
Leggings: H&M
Clutch: BCBGMAXAZRIA
Booties: Aldo
That's all from me! What are some of your favourite looks for this Spring?
Stay tuned for more from our other board members, coming soon :)

Spring Comfort
3/8/15
Sweat pants - Men's H&M, Denim Jacket - Forever 21, Beanie - Neff, Crop Top - Garage, Accessories - H&M and Taobao
For this first look, if you can't tell already I'm the lazy type of gal with my outfits. Most of the time, I seek for comfort over anything else. Therefore I actually styled up an outfit for our Spring photoshoot in sweat pants but skipping out on the traditional scrub look attire (aka the hoodie, old t-shirt, messy top bun, and UGGS - let's save all that for home chilling). Who said you can only be comfortable in the whole scrub attire and can't look cute at the same time? Whenever I have hair problems, I opt for a beanie to make my outfit more put together. Adding a body chain to my outfit also adds some twist to a typical sweat pants outfit.
Cardigan - Zara, Hoodie - SFU x American Apparel, Lace Top, Belt and Tights - H&M, Shorts - Sirens, Shoes - Aldo
For this second outfit, I have continued keeping my outfit comfy with a large cable knit cardigan. Since the Vancouver weather is still chilly and unpredictable, a cardigan with massive holes in them will not keep you warm so I layered up with a faculty hoodie underneath. In case, raincouver decides to be bipolar at least you have a hood to cover your head for the time being. For my top, I have picked out my oldie but goodie white floral lace top that I can never go wrong with. As the famous quote from Miranda Preistly in The Devil Wears Prada says "Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking" hahaha.
This wraps it up for my outfit of the day post! I hope you guys all enjoyed my cheat ways of being comfortable but looking cute and put together at the same time. What are some of your favourite ways to cheat a comfy yet cute outfit?
P.S Photography credits in this post all goes to our amazingly talented president - Ms. Tiana H. And in case any of you are wondering about details on my makeup please visit my personal makeup blog here. :)

It’s Against The Law To Look This Good: Criminal Damage
2/26/15
Hey guys its Caleb here to introduce another new brand. Criminal Damage is a European clothing brand that is known for its flashy designs and tongue-in-cheek graphics. Established in London in 1991, Criminal Damage seeks to elevate the streetwear game. Its trendy designs also feature monochrome and bright and bold colour schemes.
Ladies do not feel left out, in fact Criminal Damage carries many different types of clothing for females. Colourful sweaters and exotic leggings, there many flashy choices for women. Beanies, caps, vests, and jackets are also available for purchase.
The products can be bought off the official site (price is listed in pounds so make sure you do your conversions!) or off other online clothing sites. Stores like Below The Belt also carry the brand. This brand overall is more luxurious than the other brands I have previously blogged about, and is reflective in their clothing. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this brand to those who were interested in Last Kings, as it is a step-up in terms of flashy designs and quality.
