Spring Calls For Florals

4/1/15

Hey guys, it’s Terri! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I have also started a blog myself this semester for one of my courses - Pub 101. This new experience has been super fun & I hope to continue it even after the semester is over. But until then, I promise I will try to post more on Vanstyle. :)  Today I will be sharing one of my favourite looks from Vanstyle’s Spring Photoshoot that we had about two weeks ago. The day of the shoot was extremely sunny, but also very, very cold.

Since Vancouver has been having such gorgeous weather and spring is pretty much around the corner, I decided to pop on a flowery kimono-like cardigan as statement florals to keep the look “romantic,” if you will. To bring the entire outfit into a more spring and light feel, I chose a simple white tank underneath so that it won’t clash with my bold kimono. For bottom wear, I went along with my all-time favourite ripped denim by Frame from Aritzia! In my opinion, these babies are a must-have if you have been looking for the perfect pair of ripped jeans - which was exactly what I was searching for back in December.

Although the jeans are a bit dark for “spring” or whatnot, you can definitely switch the outfit up with a pair of lighter denim if that’s the style you are going for. I think a lighter pair of denim like in the picture below would look just as great, if not even more in sync with spring!

This second picture above shows a clearer picture of the bag I chose to pair with the outfit – a large, black tote from Forever 21. Since school started again back in January, I had been searching for the perfect purse for school as an alternative to the Herschel backpack I carry around everywhere. What I was looking for in a bag was its size (to carry all my books and laptop), and its classic un-structured look which this particular tote perfectly encompasses. However, I am still currently in search for a tote bag with a more structured look. If you guys know of any places, please don’t hesitate in letting me know in the comments below!
