And now here's the sentimental run about how our club started, to where we are today:
Tiana met Nicole during REM100 tutorial on a fall semester in 2012. When Nicole was rambling about her modelling adventures with the UBC - University Fashion Club, they both realized SFU was missing a fashion entity. So that night Tiana went home and looked up how to create a club on the SFSS website, and invited Nicole, Lauren, Daniel, Caleb, Jennifer, Alexis and Andy to become the first execs. From there, there was a lot of spamming. Ta-da, Vanstyle was born. Magical right?
But then people actually started becoming interested. So we ended up holding social events, photoshoots, videoshoots, and even fashion shows. Along the way we discovered what we were standing for, lost and gained new team members, learned alot, had lots of fun, and even trouble here and there (especially HTMl, such a pain).
Today, we are a SFU fashion community dedicated to promote the passion for fashion among us busy vancouverites. We want to inspire others to participate and uplift the fashion scene in our community. Fashion is a lot of fun, and we want to encourage people to define their own style. We didn't know what we were doing for the longest time, but we have grown so much since the beginning, and it is all thanks to you - our readers!
